Vodafone offers iPhone 4 on Pay As You GoThe iPhone 4 has been out for quite awhile now, if you are one of those who love to use the iPhone just like a small iPad, then here’s a great new for you all: the Vodafone offers iPhone 4 on Pay As You Go!

Vodafone is to offer the iPhone 4 on a Pay As You Go tariff. Also adding in a few extra incentives up until November this year, Pay As You Go iPhone 4 Vodafone customers can enjoy one year’s worth of data which will be capped at 250MB a month in addition to one year’s access to BT Openzone Wi-Fi, set at 1GB a month.

Vodafone have launched the Pay As You Go option as a reaction to customer needs; with many people preferring the flexibility that PAYG systems offer. Mark Bond the Consumer Director of Vodafone has also stated that there will be further options and incentives introduced later this year.

Of course, the main disadvantage of PAYG is the hefty cost of buying the phone which when on contract, is usually offered for free. The 16GB PAYG iPhone 4 through Vodafone will cost you £480, whilst the 32GB version will set you back a whopping £570. If you’re still a lover of the iPhone 3GS, this will cost you £385 on the Vodafone PAYG deal.

Yes, quite pricey, but if you use the iPhone like a smaller iPad, (like browsing the web a lot, or downloading things quite often on the iPhone 4) then you might find the contract thing actually quite reasonable.

Nokia C3 social networking smartphoneUsually smartphones are a little expensive, and we don’t like contract deals. But this time you might want to change your idea about this , the Nokia C3 – social networking smartphone comes to pay as you go on Vodafone is a nice phone that costs little with a quite OK contract. Let’s check it out.

Nokia’s Blackberry-lookalike social-networking phone, the Nokia C3 will be exclusively available on a pay as you go deal with Vodafone. It’s a move that may encourage lots of customers with less money into smartphones. When the Nokia C3 launches in June, Vodafone customers will be able to pick it up on one of the network’s pay as you go deals.

Packing Nokia Messenger, the phone offers one-click access to social networks, email and instant messaging services including Ovi chat – all pretty cheaply on customisable pay as you go deals. C3 customers will have to work out mobile internet deals, which on Vodafone include 250mb data web packs at £7.50 for 30 days. I keep mentioning that I am not a fan of limited internet deals but limited internet is the nature of pay as you go, and if you juggle your budget right and watch your usage, this could be a cheap way of getting a nice smartphone.

As for the phone itself, the Nokia C3 also features a full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi connectivity, a two-megapixel camera, capacity for up to 8GB of memory and a 2.4 inch screen. It’s a cute little handset that comes in several colours, including pink if you’re wondering.

Well, do you like it? I think a pink smartphone is great for girls. And this one is quite good look too.

No 4G3G’s all over and we’re all ready for 4G, a new era of communication. But somehow, someone’s not ready for that and not as happy as we are, so they say: If we can’t have 4G, then no one can! Oops, 4G might be a little delay, here’s the story:

O2 and Vodafone are threatening to delay 4G in the UK until they get what they want. Since both want the same thing, that could be a bit of a problem. The government is trying to pass legislation to allow an auction of next-generation bandwidth by the end of the month – but because the two phone companies don’t like it they’re readying a “judicial review.” Aka “We’ll spend money to stop this for as long as we have to.”

Their consternation comes from the recent combination of Orange and T-Mobile, which the European Commission forced to sell 25% of its 1800 MHz spectrum to avoid monopoly issues. Orange/T-Mobile said “sure”, but they want to sell it all in one chunk. This means either O2 or Vodafone will end up with a significant advantage, and rather than spend more money to get that they’d rather spend less to jam the gears of progress with legal paperwork.

Luckily those gears, in this case the UK Department for Business (overseeing the auction on behalf of the European Commission) said they have no intention of stalling the spectrum sale to save phone companies some money.

OK, I don’t know how this thing is going to end up, but one thing I’m sure about is that 4G do is coming on the way! You just have to be ready when it comes eventually.
