Knight Defense for iPhoneMany lazy afternoons lately, so how about playing a little game on your iPhone? My answer’s fine, so I looked around and did a little search work then I found this interesting game – the Knight Defense, it is actually a Tower Defense game with a Twist, and it’s more interesting!

Knight Defense combines action and strategy in a dynamic re-imagining of the tower defense genre. It’s bold, intelligent, challenging & fun. If you have a shiny new iPhone 4, the game takes full advantage of the HD Retina Display.

Well as a game we should first check out the gameplay, right? In this case, the gameplay’s a little complicated but not too quirky, it’s actually great gameplay that you’ll love:

- Defeat all waves of enemies without losing your King.
- Your pieces fire at enemies in distinct patterns reminiscent of chess pieces. Each time a piece fires in a particular direction there is a short delay before it can fire again in that direction.
- If an enemy hits one of your pieces it explodes and damages that piece (and sometimes the pieces around it).
- Combos: destroy multiple enemies at once to greatly increase your score.
- Each of your pieces can be upgraded 7 times, increasing health and attack, as well as healing the piece back to full health and allowing it to fire immediately in all available directions.
- Each piece has a unique special ability with a cooldown before it can be used again. Eg. making nearby pieces fire twice as fast or healing nearby pieces.
- Enemies vary in health, speed and attack power.
- Enemies home towards your King, so where you position him determines their movement.
- Pieces can protect each other, reducing the damage they take.
- Tap the skip button make the next wave arrive immediately.

And here’re some special features about this interesting new game:

- Move and upgrade your forces in real-time to defeat the waves of enemies determined to destroy your king.
- Each level is a hand-crafted scenario with many different ways to win.
- The levels are divided into easy, medium and hard difficulties. Can you beat the hard levels?
- Unlock achievements and rocket to the top of the global leader boards with OpenFeint!
- Free updates to come – more levels and achievements.
- Resume exactly where you left off when you restart the app.

So generally speaking, the Knight Defense game for the iPhone and iPod Touch is just one of the thousands of Tower Defense games, but what makes it different is that it has a really great twist! Try it, you’ll find yourself love it!

SquareBusta for iPhoneAfter so many years we still love the Tetris game, it is indeed a very simple game even a kid can understand the gameplay, but it is exactly the simple but genius gameplay made the game so classic and so popular with kids and adults alike. Play games on your iPhone isn’t anything new, and play Tetris on your iPhone still can’t be so called news, but this iPhone game called SquareBusta is something different.

SquareBusta is a fun and addictive game where you must use the pieces that start appearing in piece pile, and build squares and rectangles with them before the piece pile fills up. Beware that it starts slow but, it will speed up, and before you know it you don’t know what to do with all those pieces.

Made a little change, but the core idea is the same, so we can call the SquareBusta a mutated Tetris. Just like the origin one, the game is enjoyable and quite addictive, just with a little more fun. And it is free for the iPhone, so enjoy!

iHurt for iPhoneThe iPhone is really quite awesome, and with all these amazing apps out there for it, it is even more attractive. So today we’re going to introduce you a very interesting game – the iHurt! The Loony Tunes smack’em up game for iPhone is really quite exciting, you should try it!

If you’re into goofy action cartoons and watching animated characters getting bashed up, this is the iPhone game for you.

iHurt takes inspiration from Loony Tunes and cartoon violence to create a game where the more you hurt yourself, the more you win. The gameplay? “Steer your character down Mt. Spinebreaker while hitting as many objects as possible in your quest to rack up the largest hospital bill in the history of the iHurt Championships!”

The main idea of this little game is: You’re falling down a hill, the idea is to bash your character into as many trees, rocks and mulitpliers as possible to maximise the hospital bill at the bottom of the hill.

Here’re some great features about this game:
1. The visuals are great, it’s genuinely quite exciting for an iPhone game with the ground rushing below your feet and trees flying past to either side
2. Accelerometer control by tilt is intuitive and easy to do
3. Integration with top scorers from twitter/facebook is a nice

And here’re some weaknesses:
1. Screen reaction is a bit slow to taps
2. Limited choice of character and scene
3. You look like a bit of a twat moving your iPhone around like it’s a steering wheel.

And it’s also important to note that iHurt is only a virtual simulation, a game, and should not be recreated at home in any way. The actions in the game are just what cartoon characters do for a living, they fall down and go boom. They are professionals in the world of slapstick, and also you wouldn’t like the hospital anyway.

It’s not at the level of top games like PocketGod – where the endless variation makes the play really addictive. But this is well visualised and the gameplay flows smoothly. Cartoon link-ins are fun.

All in all, this is a really nice game to kill time with, but you should always bare in mind that it is MERELY a game! :)

iPhone Gaming PlatformGame is one thing we love, and iPhone makes another! Despite the fact we really love to play games on our dear iPhone, there’s really not much real options, I mean, with all these fantastic games on PSP and Nintendo, it’s just not fair for iPhone users! And we’ve heard some change will be made, and the good news is that iPhone gaming is getting big, so it’s interesting to see CNET reenforce just how big it’s getting:

“strikingly absent among those 18 (Mobile Gaming) panels are any that deal with game development specifically for the iPhone. And why? Because for the first time, the GDC advisory board decided that Apple’s smartphone is an important enough platform to warrant its own summit. And it filled quickly.”

Simon Jeffrey, vice president of social applications for leading iPhone game developer Ngmoco says: “The iPhone is now recognized as a leading platform that’s independent from the mobile. People are specifically naming the iPhone as a threat to their businesses. Nintendo said the iPhone is taking customers away from (its popular) DS handhelds.”

So iPhone is no longer just “Mobile”, it’s big enough to be own gaming platform now! The cost of entry is lower than Microsoft or Nintendo, and it’s getting more and more popular while still maintaining its cool factor. While Android and Windows Phone 7 Series will bring the competition (and perhaps Palm as well), right now the iPhone is riding high on its head start.

Whatever, I’m just really happy to see the big change of iPhone gaming, and we’ll be much more happier to see more and more fabulous games coming to iPhone, which I believe will not be long!

Earthworm Jim game for iPhoneYes, the whole world is now crazy about retro style, all these vintage things are really awesome. And as for games, they mean much more than clothes when it comes to retro style. I mean, we’ve actually got real memories of our own on these old games, and their coming back (of course in a new better way) really means much to us, bring back all these precious memories along with lots of fun!

So groovy! One of the all-time most iconic video game characters is now coming to iPhone & iPod Touch from history! Earthworm Jim for iPhone/iPod Touch is a refreshing remake of the classic action/platform game, live or re-live, whatever you say, it’s a great game. Jim was an ordinary earthworm who did very earthworm-like things. One day, during a battle in outer-space, a suit dropped to Earth and landed on Jim, mutating him into a large and intelligent (at least by earthworm standards) superhero. When Jim learns of the evil plans of Psy-Crow and Queen Slug-for-a-Butt, he decides to rescue Princess What’s-Her-Name.

Initially released on Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo back in 1994, Earthworm Jim broke new ground in 16-bit gaming and we are happy to say the Gameloft iPhone version holds up pretty well. No corners were cut with this one as everything that makes the original a classic is here. — nice crisp graphics, excellent sound and good controls.

Play as the grooviest earthworm in the galaxy, and explore a crazy universe that offers huge gameplay possibilities:
-Run, gun, swing from hooks with your head, launch cows, bungee jump, rocket through speed levels and more!
-Face 12 types of enemies and 9 bosses.
-4 different styles of gameplay: Side-scrolling run & gun, space racing, bungee jumping and underwater levels
-10 original environments divided into 16 levels
-4 levels of difficulty, including the challenging mode of the original game
           -The re-mastered cult soundtrack
-iPod library access to play your favorite tracks while playing the game.

EarthWorm Jim is now available in Apple App Store for $4.99, hope you enjoy the fun!

Plants vs Zombies on iPhoneWe all love games, one best part about smartphones is so that we can play much more interesting games on phones. And most importantly  it’s extendable, always fun new games coming in the way! And here’s one really nice little game, Plants vs. Zombies!

The game has been popular on Windows and Mac for quite a while, and you might already have had lots of fun with your PC by now. Plants vs. Zombies is a super fun Tower-Defense style game made by PopCap, also know as a very hit casual game. A mob of fun-loving zombies is about to invade your home, and your only defense is an arsenal of 49 zombie-zapping plants. Use peashooters, wall-nuts, cherry bombs and more to mulchify 26 types of zombies before they can reach your front door.

Each zombie has its own special skills, so you’ll need to think fast and plant faster to combat them all. But be careful how you use your limited supply of greens and seeds… as you battle the fun-dead, obstacles like a setting sun, creeping fog and a swimming pool are added to the challenge. And with five game modes to dig into, the fun never dies!

And personally, I really love the cartoonish graphics, looks very clean and fun! And the most exciting part about this game on iPhone is really the fun of playing the game on a touchscreen, faster and more visually, totally beats the mouse game play! The game fits perfectly on iPhone, easy yet challenging, really entertaining! This is a very, very good game in a fairly crowded category. And the cost is $3, definitely worth it.
