iHurt for iPhoneThe iPhone is really quite awesome, and with all these amazing apps out there for it, it is even more attractive. So today we’re going to introduce you a very interesting game – the iHurt! The Loony Tunes smack’em up game for iPhone is really quite exciting, you should try it!

If you’re into goofy action cartoons and watching animated characters getting bashed up, this is the iPhone game for you.

iHurt takes inspiration from Loony Tunes and cartoon violence to create a game where the more you hurt yourself, the more you win. The gameplay? “Steer your character down Mt. Spinebreaker while hitting as many objects as possible in your quest to rack up the largest hospital bill in the history of the iHurt Championships!”

The main idea of this little game is: You’re falling down a hill, the idea is to bash your character into as many trees, rocks and mulitpliers as possible to maximise the hospital bill at the bottom of the hill.

Here’re some great features about this game:
1. The visuals are great, it’s genuinely quite exciting for an iPhone game with the ground rushing below your feet and trees flying past to either side
2. Accelerometer control by tilt is intuitive and easy to do
3. Integration with top scorers from twitter/facebook is a nice

And here’re some weaknesses:
1. Screen reaction is a bit slow to taps
2. Limited choice of character and scene
3. You look like a bit of a twat moving your iPhone around like it’s a steering wheel.

And it’s also important to note that iHurt is only a virtual simulation, a game, and should not be recreated at home in any way. The actions in the game are just what cartoon characters do for a living, they fall down and go boom. They are professionals in the world of slapstick, and also you wouldn’t like the hospital anyway.

It’s not at the level of top games like PocketGod – where the endless variation makes the play really addictive. But this is well visualised and the gameplay flows smoothly. Cartoon link-ins are fun.

All in all, this is a really nice game to kill time with, but you should always bare in mind that it is MERELY a game! :)

Reiner Knizia’s Money for the iPhoneWe all somehow love games, we want to play games when we were still young and when we grow older, game is one thing we can’t drop on the way of growing. Card games are very casual and very usual too, we love to occasionally play a little card game. On the other hand, with cellphones today getting more powerful, play games on cellphone is really a good choice, and we’d enjoy that. So a little card game on the iPhone for you: the Teiner Knizia’s Money!

In Reiner Knizia’s Money, you have to spend money to make money. It’s a turn-based card game with several different currencies, with the goal of whittling your way down to two or three types of currencies in order to score the most points and win the game.

The learning curve is relatively small, and the gameplay is fairly simple. But most importantly, it’s fun.

To start, each of the four (or three, if you choose) players start with six random cards. In the center of the board, there are two lots of four cards on which everyone will bid. From your lot of cards, you place your bid. In decreasing order of bids, each of the four players will get their choice of what lot of cards to take. In addition to the two lots in the center of the board, you can also choose to take another player’s bid instead. In either case, you swap your cards with the lot you want to take.

This continues until the center deck of cards is empty and the player with the most points is declared the winner. So how does scoring work?

It’s actually quite simple, although it took me a couple of games before I got the hang of it. Each of the currencies has nine different cards: 20, 20, 20, 30, 30, 30, 40, 50, and 60. If you have at least 200 of the same currency, you have those points. Anything less than 200 gets you that score, minus 100. So, for example, if you have 150 of one currency, you get 50 points (150 – 100 = 50).

There are also triple bonus scores. To earn this, you have to collect three of the same 20’s or three of the same 30’s to earn 100 bonus points. Lastly, there are special 10 point coins that earn you just that: 10 points.

As for options, there aren’t many, but what is there is sufficient. You can choose between three or four players, three different difficulty levels, toggle on/off if you want the ability to pass your turn, and more.

The game also includes a copy of the rules should you ever need them for reference.

The visuals, although minimal, are great for the most part. The biggest thing is that the currencies are easily distinguishable, which is obviously important. The one minor gripe I have is that, when selecting what cards you want to bid, the selection window can be somewhat small and you can fat finger a selection. Fortunately, you have to confirm your bid, so you can easily fix a mistake should you make one.

There aren’t any sound effects, which is a bit odd. I was expecting sounds of cards shuffling and whatnot, but there are none to be found. It doesn’t detract from the game at all, however.

Another nice touch is that, although the games aren’t incredibly long, your progress is saved when you exit the app.

If you’re at all interested in card games, I suggest giving this one a try. It’s easy to play, yet has some depth. When it all boils down, Reiner Knizia’s Money is a fun, enjoyable card game that’s worth a look.

Anyway, quite a good game, not perfect of course, but definitely worth a look! Reiner Knizia’s Money is now available in the Apple App Store for $2.99. If you love card games this will be a really good choice. But if you don’t like card games and think they’re just boring, then don’t wait your money or time, just wait for us to post about more interesting games in different types!

iPhone Gaming PlatformGame is one thing we love, and iPhone makes another! Despite the fact we really love to play games on our dear iPhone, there’s really not much real options, I mean, with all these fantastic games on PSP and Nintendo, it’s just not fair for iPhone users! And we’ve heard some change will be made, and the good news is that iPhone gaming is getting big, so it’s interesting to see CNET reenforce just how big it’s getting:

“strikingly absent among those 18 (Mobile Gaming) panels are any that deal with game development specifically for the iPhone. And why? Because for the first time, the GDC advisory board decided that Apple’s smartphone is an important enough platform to warrant its own summit. And it filled quickly.”

Simon Jeffrey, vice president of social applications for leading iPhone game developer Ngmoco says: “The iPhone is now recognized as a leading platform that’s independent from the mobile. People are specifically naming the iPhone as a threat to their businesses. Nintendo said the iPhone is taking customers away from (its popular) DS handhelds.”

So iPhone is no longer just “Mobile”, it’s big enough to be own gaming platform now! The cost of entry is lower than Microsoft or Nintendo, and it’s getting more and more popular while still maintaining its cool factor. While Android and Windows Phone 7 Series will bring the competition (and perhaps Palm as well), right now the iPhone is riding high on its head start.

Whatever, I’m just really happy to see the big change of iPhone gaming, and we’ll be much more happier to see more and more fabulous games coming to iPhone, which I believe will not be long!

Earthworm Jim game for iPhoneYes, the whole world is now crazy about retro style, all these vintage things are really awesome. And as for games, they mean much more than clothes when it comes to retro style. I mean, we’ve actually got real memories of our own on these old games, and their coming back (of course in a new better way) really means much to us, bring back all these precious memories along with lots of fun!

So groovy! One of the all-time most iconic video game characters is now coming to iPhone & iPod Touch from history! Earthworm Jim for iPhone/iPod Touch is a refreshing remake of the classic action/platform game, live or re-live, whatever you say, it’s a great game. Jim was an ordinary earthworm who did very earthworm-like things. One day, during a battle in outer-space, a suit dropped to Earth and landed on Jim, mutating him into a large and intelligent (at least by earthworm standards) superhero. When Jim learns of the evil plans of Psy-Crow and Queen Slug-for-a-Butt, he decides to rescue Princess What’s-Her-Name.

Initially released on Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo back in 1994, Earthworm Jim broke new ground in 16-bit gaming and we are happy to say the Gameloft iPhone version holds up pretty well. No corners were cut with this one as everything that makes the original a classic is here. — nice crisp graphics, excellent sound and good controls.

Play as the grooviest earthworm in the galaxy, and explore a crazy universe that offers huge gameplay possibilities:
-Run, gun, swing from hooks with your head, launch cows, bungee jump, rocket through speed levels and more!
-Face 12 types of enemies and 9 bosses.
-4 different styles of gameplay: Side-scrolling run & gun, space racing, bungee jumping and underwater levels
-10 original environments divided into 16 levels
-4 levels of difficulty, including the challenging mode of the original game
           -The re-mastered cult soundtrack
-iPod library access to play your favorite tracks while playing the game.

EarthWorm Jim is now available in Apple App Store for $4.99, hope you enjoy the fun!

Plants vs Zombies on iPhoneWe all love games, one best part about smartphones is so that we can play much more interesting games on phones. And most importantly  it’s extendable, always fun new games coming in the way! And here’s one really nice little game, Plants vs. Zombies!

The game has been popular on Windows and Mac for quite a while, and you might already have had lots of fun with your PC by now. Plants vs. Zombies is a super fun Tower-Defense style game made by PopCap, also know as a very hit casual game. A mob of fun-loving zombies is about to invade your home, and your only defense is an arsenal of 49 zombie-zapping plants. Use peashooters, wall-nuts, cherry bombs and more to mulchify 26 types of zombies before they can reach your front door.

Each zombie has its own special skills, so you’ll need to think fast and plant faster to combat them all. But be careful how you use your limited supply of greens and seeds… as you battle the fun-dead, obstacles like a setting sun, creeping fog and a swimming pool are added to the challenge. And with five game modes to dig into, the fun never dies!

And personally, I really love the cartoonish graphics, looks very clean and fun! And the most exciting part about this game on iPhone is really the fun of playing the game on a touchscreen, faster and more visually, totally beats the mouse game play! The game fits perfectly on iPhone, easy yet challenging, really entertaining! This is a very, very good game in a fairly crowded category. And the cost is $3, definitely worth it.

RafterThere’re plenty of games on iPhone lately, but this one is really exclusive and totally worth playing. Before we start, I have to say that the first thing that catches my eyes was the picture-style, feels like sketches and very much enjoyable. And then, the gameplay is truly creative and full of fun!

Rafter is 21 levels of Da Vinci-inspired fun provided by Emantras, Inc.. The action doesn’t last very long, but this $0.99 title is definitely worth the money, cause Rafter presents one of the better physics-based puzzle engines I’ve seen out on the iPhone, and also, there is some replayability thanks to the OpenFeint-enabled scoreboards. The gameplay is indeed very simple: draw a shape at the top of the screen and have it drop onto the red mine at the bottom of the screen. Then again, it’s not quite that easy as you thought.

There are two kinds of obstacles in Rafter: the ones that move and the ones that don’t. The game also occasionally adds an extra challenge in the form of wind, but the gameplay always boils down to bouncing, rolling, or sliding your shape towards the red mine. You draw circles or rectangles at the top of the screen, each of which will bounce or slide off of in-game obstacles in a different way. The size of a drawn objecthas an effect on its mass too, that smaller shapes will fly further. You can use this mechanic to your advantage by making your drawings bounce off each other, to launch them into the level-ending red mine. However, you can’t simply take your time with your drawings, as every level features a time limit that affects your score. If you need a little bit of time to think, you can double tap any where on the level to pause. You get more points for completing a level faster, as well as for doing so with a minimum number of drawings..

I thought the experienced was tiered quite nicely, and the puzzles never got so complex that I just wanted to give up. So generally it is a really addicting game with a very much addicting core gameplay. Totally worth the $0.99, well, enjoy!
