Beast Flyers for iPhoneStar Wars, Star Trek…American people are always dreaming of flying in the sky and the outer space too. When this is temporarily impossible for a human being to fly alone in the universe, why don’t we try this out in a nice iPhone game – the Beast Flyers is a game of battles in the universe at sky-high.

Take part in an exciting aerial adventure! Beast Flyers! is an action platformer that will have you fighting mythical beasts in the sky. Cling onto and control flying creatures using your magical energy rope! Play through a variety of missions including collecting magical sky crystals, avoiding dangerous obstacles like exploding rocks and lava spewing volcanoes. Experience different weather conditions like snow, rain and wind. Fend off vicious critters like sonar bats, winter owls and poisonous pterodactyls! Challenge giant beasts in epic boss battles! These include the phoenix of the flames and the lightning wyrm.

Seems pretty good, flying in the sky and fighting evil creatures, this is like your own sci-fi, and this is a really nice way to kill time on your iPhone.

Blackberry BinmenI don’t know about you guys, but I sit in front of my laptop screen for like 10 hours a day or more, and sometimes I just get tired and I just start to hate computers. And then I would really want to find a job that has nothing to do with computers, but then I find the problem — There’s no such job!

Even garbage collection relies on computers somehow! Let’s see what the BlackBerry Binmen will do to the business.

Binmen are bringing Blackberrys to the high-stakes game of collecting garbage, proving that there isn’t a single job in the world where you don’t have to work with computers. The garbage collection agency “Biffa” is electronically equipping employees in an effort to speed up the service. They say staff can now communicated with home office and download maps, (but not Facebooks, twitters…this is more about business than entertainment) which raises the terrifying idea of trucks brimming with garbage tearing around at random in an extremely unpleasant version of Speed.

More usefully they’ll be able to instantly image examples of customers with overflowing bins or improperly-sorted garbage, so reality has finally caught up with the tinfoil-hat conspiracy theorists – there really is cellphone surveillance of your bins. And this new telecom-trash-tapping works both ways, with company-equipped GPS units able to track the trucks’ progress (and instantly tell them when they’re behind.)

I usually love cell phone games, and would like to have a taste of new cell phone apps, but I’m still new to this BlackBerry Binmen, and if you’ve got any further information on this, please tell me in the comments. And will this be an effective use of £1.75 million? Or would ten more trucks speed things further? Only time, and your trash, will tell. Let’s just wait and see.

iPhone 4.0 beta 4 releasediPhone is the one smartphone we all care about, whether love it or not, we do care about what new changes have been made, and what that will mean to us smartphone users. Well, now since the 4.0 beta 4 has been released for awhile, it’s time for me write something about this new firmware I guess, and there’s actually a few impressions to write about. So here I am.

iPhone 4.0 beta 4 was released to developers yesterday, and several sites have already jumped on the newest firmware and have published many of its little secrets. I’ve also been playing with b4 and am quite happy with it. So far, it feels even faster than b3. In non-scientific tests, the camera seems to load up faster (about 2 seconds) and even the video frame rate seems smoother. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg in terms of all of the cool little changes in this fourth beta of iPhone 4.0.

Default app changes…

1. Mail: now shows number of messages instead of two chevrons. Looks a heck of a lot cleaner for it. Unfortunately, messages with attachments still get stuck in the outbox until you go there and manually send them off.

2. Calendar: this may be old news, but I swear there wasn’t an option to add notes to an event before 4.0b4.

3. Camera: Now loads in two seconds, resulting in fewer missed moments while you’re waiting for the damn digital shutter to open. Exposure adjustment also feels a bit faster now. However, load time and tap-to-focus video are, by far, the best camera features of 4.0 thus far.

System changes…

1. Multi tasking dock: This one feels much snappier. Comes up the moment after you double-tap the home button.

2. Replace: The “replace” option for correcting selected text no longer shows its suggestions in strange, bolded black/blue. They’re now in white.

3. Kickass new wallpapers: it’s been mentioned everywhere, but the new wallpapers for 4.0 are actually quite cool. Much better than the ones that came with iPhone 1/2/3.0.

Settings changes…

1. New dialogue for keyboards

2. Wifi added to network section (why isn’t 3G toggle below airplane yet?!)

App Store app notes…

1. Evernote works again! Maybe it’s b4, maybe it’s the newest update…but it works!

2. Canabalt still doesn’t; still crashes on startup

3. Mailroom is working again; had trouble in previous betas

Well, this is what I’ve got, and if you’ve got some other informations or disagrees, please let me know in the comments.

Ice Cream Weather for iPhoneWeather condition affects our daily life, so weather apps are kinda essential. As we all have one or two weather apps on our smartphones, and not all of them are good enough, so basically we’re still looking for a really nice weather app to help us making our daily plans properly. So if you love cute cheeky apps, the Ice Cream Weather is worth a look.

Score one for the very cheeky app ideas.

Ice Cream Weather reports the temperature in your area (US-only — which sucks, since the app is also available in Canada) and displays a handy “melt meter” to indicate how quickly ice cream will melt, given the local temperature. You can customize the main screen to also display a scoop of ice cream, a cone, and your choice of toppings. If you start to crave the real thing (and not the ultra cheesy on-screen cone), you can then call up an ice-cream centric map of your area to find your local dairy bar.

Is this app really perfect, or so much more functional than others? Likely not. We’ve seen quite some weather apps more functional than this one actually. However, the idea and execution did, at least, bring a smile to my face, which is a lot more than I can say for most free novelty apps like this.

Overall, this is a nice app that tells the weather, and has some really interesting sweet functions, but still far from perfect. If you appreciate cheeky app interface this is really a nice weather app you’ll love. What you’ll love more is that this one is available for free.

BugMe for iPhoneOne reason why cell phones are so popular today is that it really integrated lots of  functions, which means cellphones are really really convenient to our daily life. Communication is one thing and other sweet little but useful functions like alarms makes another. Well, as smartphones getting smarter and smarter today, there’re more and more interesting useful feature on a cellphone, however there’s still some simple functions we need, and today we’re going to talk about alarms, a little thing we use almost everyday.

So as busy as we are becoming nowadays, we always need a little remind for doing things on schedule, and a little alarm clock used to do good for the job, but eventually we need more, so alarm apps on cellphone gradually becomes a good choice. Here’s a great one for you: BugMe! Lite for iPhone: three alarms, no down payment!

I’m going to tell you how to get an ad-supported, sometimes-watermarked, three-alarm version of BugMe! absolutely FREE. Just visit the iTunes Store, search for BugMe! Lite, and download away.

Granted, it’s just the App Store version of a demo and I was being a tad dramatic, but, truth be told, I never really did need more than three alarms — even in the full version of the app. So if you just want to have a taste of this wonderful app, this may be a good chance!

It’s totally free now, and three alarms are usually enough to us, and you can buy the full version anyway after having a taste of the free one, so you really don’t want to miss this!

Free Google Maps Navigation coming to iPhoneWe kinda all love Google for some different reasons maybe, and as time passes by Google has long proved himself worth your love by offering many Google products while still offering the world’s best search engine (at least so far). And Google Map is definitely one of the most important Google products, for it’s really truly useful. And for Android phone users Google Maps Navigation is even more awesome than the Google Map, you basically can’t get lost with this little app loaded on your phone! And now comes the good news that the Google Maps Navigation is coming to iPhone for free!

Maybe free Google Maps Navigation for iPhone is what Steve Jobs and Eric Schmidt were confabbing about over quinti-venti-lattes? Okay, maybe not but as part of the UK Google Maps Navigation roll out, they did once again say the envy-worthy, currently Android-only service would indeed be coming to the iPhone.

Well, it’s jusr they still haven’t said when.

Fella, we’ve got this huge iPhone OS 4 update coming this summer, how about then? Well, we don’t know, but at least there’s hope… :)

Opera Mini for iPhoneWhile Opera is a nice web browser on PC, Opera Mini is a even better mobile browser on smartphones, and it has been a pity for long that this wonderful mobile browser had no such version for iPhone/iPod Touch users. However now the Opera Mini app finally approved for the Apple AppStore.

Opera today announced its popular mobile browser, Opera Mini has been approved for iPhone and iPod touch on the App Store. Opera Mini will be available as a free download within 24 hours, depending on market.

Opera Mini, with more than 50 million users worldwide, enables fast mobile Web browsing by compressing data by up to 90 percent before sending content to the device, resulting in significantly improved page loading. Users of the app will notice an uptake in speed, especially on slower networks such as the 2G Edge network. Surfing the Internet with the Opera Mini App on iPhone and iPod touch will also help users save money because of its data compression capabilities. This will hold especially true while the user is incurring roaming charges.

“We are delighted to offer iPhone and iPod touch users a great browsing experience with the Opera Mini App,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “This app is another step toward Opera’s goal of bringing the Web to more people in more places.”

The Opera Mini App is available now for free from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch. Great news for iPhone/iPod Touch users, anyone waiting for this?

As I enjoyed Opera on my laptop and the Opera Mini on my blackberry, I believe this remarkable mobile browser do will work great on your iPhone/iPod Touch! So let’s me know your idea of this.

Today Todo Pro, the sunniest task manager on the iPhoneOne big advantage about have smartphones is that they can help you schedule your time, since we all have busy days nowadays and we all have something that we’ve planned to do, or something we really don’t want to forget about, so this feature of smartphones can be really useful and sweet as well!

Among all those task manager apps out there, Today Todo Pro is quite a nice one that keeps beautiful and functional. It has a bit of an awkward title, but it’s definitely one of the most interesting and unique task managers to hit the App Store thus far. After all, what other apps let you move from today to yesterday by literally swiping the noon day sun off of the screen?

Today ToDo Pro (or TTP from here on out) actually features a very simple interface, but it’s so different than anything else out there that it can take a little while to get used to. The categories (lists) are hidden in a pull-down menu at the top of the screen. Lists are divided into default and Someday tasks by default, but you can add your own categories at any time.

New tasks are created by tilting the device into landscape mode, and dates are picked by using a sliding bar instead of the (inferior) Apple date picker. You can also set the priority of a task by simply swiping along the top-right side of the screen. TTP features one of the best “new task” dialogues I’ve ever seen — every bit as good as the famous 2Do’s, if not better. The settings for new tasks are re-saved every time you bring the new task dialogue up, and it’s very easy to enter multiple tasks into one list because the dialogue box doesn’t go away until you tilt back to portrait (or press cancel).

Tasks are displayed on the main portion of the screen and are completed by simply ticking off the circle on the left side (or via swipe-to-delete, if you’re feeling vicious). Ticking tasks off works well enough, but it somehow feels like it’s missing something. Completed tasks simply throw themselves to the bottom of the list without any extra animation, and it can actually be a little too easy to “complete” the wrong task, or “complete” a task without meaning to.

Due dates for new tasks are set to the current date by default, but as you use TTP you’ll likely see tasks on one of the four metaphoric “day” screens: yesterday (previous or overdue tasks), today, tomorrow (future tasks), and Someday (tasks without a due date). Switching between these views is as simple as swiping left or right on the sun or moon at the top of the screen. It’s an idea that sounds great on paper, and works out very well in practice as well.

This little cute app can be really helpful when you want to schedule your time, and make some really nice plan. And you’ll be really pleased to use such a sunny apps on your iPhone. You can get it at Apple app store now.
